Scientific research
Together, we work towards proven effective care, where every intervention is grounded in solid research, practical experience and close collaboration with our national and international partners.

Substantiated and trustworthy
Psylaris develops solutions for mental-health care that you can use safely and confidently in your clinical practice. We don’t rely on intuition; we build on scientific insights, our own research and collaborations with mental-health organisations, hospitals, universities of applied sciences and universities.
Science as a foundation
At Psylaris, science is not something that stands next to practice, but right at its centre. Our products build on established treatment methods such as EMDR and cognitive behavioural therapy, and are continuously evaluated in real clinical settings.
We collaborate with forward-thinking partners and universities to study our interventions in real-world care environments: from forensic care and intensive trauma care to regular mental-health treatment trajectories.
Our aim is clear: you should know what an intervention does, who it is suitable for and how to use it safely and efficiently in your clinical setting.

VR and existing scientific evidence
Research on Psylaris aligns with a rapidly growing body of international literature on VR in healthcare. Meta-analyses show that VR exposure for anxiety and trauma-related disorders achieves effect sizes comparable to traditional in vivo exposure.
Evidence is also increasing for relaxation, pain reduction and tension regulation: immersive VR appears to be a feasible and effective addition to existing care, particularly because clients can practise briefly, intensively and repeatedly in a safe environment.
Building the evidence together
We believe that good digital care can only exist when it is grounded in good science. That is why we continue to test, refine and expand our products based on real-world data and controlled research.
We are always looking for new research partners — from universities of applied sciences and universities to mental-health organisations and hospitals — who want to explore questions about the effectiveness, efficiency and implementation of VR in care together with us.
Would you like to explore whether a joint study on EMDR-VR, 360° video or VR-based relaxation fits within your organisation or research focus? Feel free to contact us. Together, we ensure that VR in mental healthcare is not only innovative, but also firmly evidence-based.
